About Women Economic Empowerment Initiative (WEEI)

The UBA Women Economic Empowerment Initiative (WEEI) is committed to fostering an enabling environment within the banking and financial services industry that promotes the growth of professional women, women leaders, and women entrepreneurs. WEEI’s comprehensive approach includes several key strategies:

  • Facilitating networking and partnership opportunities that support women’s advancement in finance.
  • Advocating for policies and practices that enhance women’s participation and leadership in the financial sector.
  • Fostering research and innovation in gender-inclusive financial services and products.
  • Strengthening UBA members’ capacity to support and develop women professionals in finance.
  • Promoting best practices in gender equality and inclusion among UBA members
