Cathy Adengo

Cathy Adengo is the Head of Sustainability at Stanbic Bank Uganda and she is responsible for the implementation of the Bank’s Sustainability Strategy and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities. Cathy holds a strong track record in Sustainability, ESG Management, Corporate Affairs, Reputation Management, Social Investments and Sustainable Business.

With an unwavering devotion to creating a positive impact, Cathy is a pioneer and champion leading the rise of Sustainability and ESG in Uganda’s banking sector and is a significant force driving the ESG agenda across various sectors in the country and the region.  

Cathy is instrumental in the delivery of the Sustainability and ESG strategy which plays a critical role in creating long-term business value by ensuring that the bank’s operations and activities create shared prosperity.

She also has a wealth of experience in various sectors globally including the Energy sector, ICT, Communications, Advertising and currently Banking. Cathy holds a Postgraduate in Business Sustainability from the University of Cambridge and a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Kent, UK. She is also a leadership coach and mentor supporting women and serves as a Board advisor to EnGender girls, a youth empowerment programme for teenage girls.
